Astoria STEM Academy, Founded in 2021

In 2011 I completed a laboratory Ph.D. program in Infectious Disease Research and Global Public Health at the now Center for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases. I also participated in the Science Education Partnership (SEP) program through the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, a separate educational instruction program. Through SEP, I taught classes as a guest scientific expert at Roosevelt High School and Ballard High School. I specialized in training educators to bring the science from academia and industry to their classrooms and high school science laboratories.

I continue to work with educators to bring my proprietary STREAM or Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Arts & Artificial Intelligence, and Mathematics project-based curriculum to their classrooms.

I incorporate nationally regarded Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Oregon K-12 Science Standards that support Common Core Standards in English, Language Arts, and Mathematics.
