STEM Astoria participants will employ STEM-based coding rules to enrich their brains and learn critical thinking while gaining crucial skills. Early coding concepts naturally spark curiosity, creativity, and desire to explore and learn with others. Children make connections and intuitively explore early coding concepts, such as sequencing, looping, and conditional coding, while developing problem-solving skills, critical thinking, collaboration, and social and emotional skills all while parents are having dinner or enjoying Astoria’s second Saturday Art Walk.

STEM Astoria LEGO Night activities include writing and designing code for “IF/THEN/END” rules'-based LEGO mazes, designing a LEGO Zipline, and playing the LEGO Creationary Game.
